BAND CODE OF CONDUCT

All Participants: Please read and sign. In addition, students must have the signature of a parent/guardian and a contact number. Please turn in to sponsor as soon as possible.

• I realize that going on this trip is a privilege
• I realize that I am representing not only my school and my band, but also my school district.
• I will be attentive, cooperative, and appropriate at all times.
• I will respect all participants, hotel personnel, and site staff.
• I will not destroy, damage, steal, take, or rearrange any property that does not belong to me. I will be responsible for repair or replacement costs as appropriate.
• I will treat all workshop leaders as professionals and with courtesy and respect.
• I will not leave designated areas at any time without the approval of my teacher, and will never go anywhere without 2 other individuals.
• I will be in my assigned hotel room with the door shut and QUIET by the appointed curfew as given by my director.
• I realize that every adult has the right to remove me from any activity and report me to the teacher for discipline if I am rude, uncooperative, or discourteous.
• I realize that band members who cannot follow the CODE OF CONDUCT will be sent home without refund of fees at the parent or guardian’s expense. A parent or guardian will be required to pick up any student who is being sent home.
• Two people may not be alone in a room, unless they are both assigned to that room.
• I realize that my director can bar me from any further band activities at my school if I break any rules on the trip.
• I realize that any student causing a disturbance (on site or at a hotel) will be reported to the administrator in charge of discipline.
• I will not bring or use any drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. I understand that breaking this rule will result in my IMMEDIATE removal from the trip and will be reported to the school’s administrator in charge of discipline.
• I will abide by ALL other school rules at all times while on this trip.
• I will follow the directions of the teacher and other chaperones.
• I will be on time to all scheduled events.
• I will not use a cell phone or other electronic device during any scheduled event, or if my teacher has not given permission to do so.
• I realize that my inappropriate behavior may cause my organization to be excluded from future events of this type.
