Dear Band Parents:
We finished all quizzes on the upcoming concert music, so your child should have a much clearer idea of what needs to be practiced. For the most part, there are only one or two children at each school who haven’t prepared enough for the performance; check grades that read “concert” to see which tunes need a little more attention. I should have all grades entered by the end of the day.
I’m sending fliers for a couple of concerts (extra credit!) that were sent to me, in case you’re interested. Several students mentioned that they went to older siblings’ middle or high school winter concerts…ANY live music performance counts for bonus points. So, even if it was orchestra, chorus, or a kazoo collective, they’re still hearing music and able to analyze it! Write a paragraph using musical terms, and earn up to 10 bonus points.
Detailed concert letters were sent home last week, but here’s a reminder of the dates for your child’s school. Please make sure your child has the appropriate concert uniform. Concert dress is white shirt, black pants/shoes/socks. Please refrain from wearing t-shirts, sneakers, sweatpants, or jeans. Plan to arrive at 6:00 p.m. for your child’s concert.

I hear there’s more snow in the forecast today, but as a huge Star Wars fan, I’m even more excited about The Last Jedi coming out today!! Enjoy the snow and the movie this weekend J Have a great week!
