2002-2003 Ad Book
Dear Player:
Did you know that there are Seniors at Marquette High who have played MarquetteHigh School Club Hockey but have never paid any fees?
MarquetteHigh School Hockey relies exclusively on player’s fees and fundraisers as its sources of revenue. The Ad Book is a fundraiser that also lowers, or even eliminates player’s fees. All of those players who have paid no fees, or reduced fees, have done so because of their hustle in selling ads for the Marquette High School Club Hockey Ad Book.
It’s a great deal! Here’s how it works:
- The first $100 minimum goes to the club. This will include a pullover jacket that the player will wear to games over their shirt/tie and keep at the end of the season.
- Any additional Ad Book sales received are credited 50% against eligible fees, with the other 50% going to the Club for direct club expenses.
- After a player’s eligible fees are paid in full, all remaining ad sales secured by that player are credited to the club. Players cannot make money from ad book sales.
- Excess ad sales do not carry over from year to year.
- However, once a player secures a donor, or contributor, or merchant, ect., he gets the right to keep that donor, year after year, until his playing days at Marquette are over, as long as he received a contribution from that donor the prior year.
- A full page ad costs $200. A half page costs $100. A quarter page costs $50. A contribution/donation in any other amount is also welcome and any $25 or more will receive name recognition in the ad book.
- All ads must be sold and turned into Christy Oberhaus (636-230-3152) or Sheri Grimm (636-256-8213) by September 30, 2002.
All the High Schools in St. Louis use ad book sales to help fund their programs. With this in mind, you’ve got some competition for ad sales. You will be competing against the High School players at Lafayette, Rockwood Summit, Parkway West, DeSmet, etc.

We would like to take the time to thank those of you who supported the Marquette High School Hockey Club in the past. Our advertising books are handed out at every Varsity, Junior Varsity, and C team game throughout the season (November through March), and at all tournaments. In addition to the ads, the ad books contain important information for the players and parents of our teams, and the many teams we play.
For the 4th straight year we have had one of the HIGHEST attendance records among all Varsity High School Ice Hockey Clubs in the area. We expect continued fan support this year. The school provides no financial support for this club, with the bulk of funding for uniforms, ice costs and league fees coming from generous contributors such as you. This inexpensive way to show your support is greatly appreciated.
We are currently seeking advertisers for our 2002-2003 season. The deadline to reserve space is 9/30/2002. Please complete the information below and return this form, your check and your ad to the player as soon as possible. Checks should be made payable to the MARQUETTE HOCKEY CLUB. The ad books will be available free of charge at every Marquette High School Hockey game during the 2002-2003 season.
