Wind Warnings/ADVISORIES

Place:District 8

Roadway:All District 8 counties.

Summary:Message boards are to be activated in any and/or all counties that have been issued a“High Wind Warning”or “High Wind Advisory” by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service. Area Command, the District ICC or DTE may also request alternate messagesfor wind warnings in accordance with the DMS Operating Guidelines.

Messagesposted in conjunction with NOAA warnings shall be displayed until the warning issued by the National Weather Service has expired or otherwise been cancelled. Messages posted by other requestors listed above shall be displayed until removal is directed by the original requestor, agency or as directed by RTMC management.

Activate ALL message boards in specified counties. Include any message boards leading into specified counties.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Deviations such as changing a message board from a Wind Message to a crash or changing a message board for any other reason must be documented and saved on J Drive including the date of event in the file name. Example file name Wind Warning 2-12-09.
