· To Save a Notebook
o Click the Save As buttonàEnter a name for you fileàUse the desired type(In this case .ink)àSave the file
o To add the file to the gallery
o Choose the folder where you would like to add the file
o Click the Insert file iconàfind the file you would like to insertàclick open

9. Click here to capture this desktop as new page (click)
10. The capture is now part of the notebook (the capture will be the last page opened)

o To change the size of a page
1. Select a page from the multipage view
2. Choose FileàPage Setup
3. Choose a page size and which pages you would like the changes to apply to
· For today we will select 72 X 48 on the Software Reference Card
· Add a timer to the pageàAdd the text How long will it take for you to get to the Mimio Guides folder?
o To change the background image of a page
1. Insert a new page using the new page icon
2. Go to the insert menuàchoose background
3. Click Color
4. Choose a Color and Click Ok
5. Insert another new page using the new page icon
6. Go to the insert menuà choose background
7. Click ImageàGo to J and choose “Calculator” imageàClick Open
8. Choose Stretch from the drop down menu for Mode
9. Apply to Current PageàClick Ok

o Go back to the page with the shapes you insertedàrotate the imagesàmove one object on top of anotheràright click the object on topàchoose order backàselect the other objectàchoose order back
o Import an object from another Mimio Notebook Pageàclick file openàopen the galleryàchoose a lessonàcopy an object (you may have to unlock to copy)àopen the original notebook where you would like to paste the objectàclick paste

o Convert ink to textàuse the penàselect the inkàright click and choose recognize ink

· Hyperlinking Objects – Jeopardy was an example of hyperlinking – hyperlinking is a way to link one thing to another – Hyperlink to webpages, open a file, or a different page from an object – the hyperlink appears at the bottom left of the object
o Hyperlink to an objectàto add a hyperlinkàselect an objectàgo to the insert menuàchoose hyperlinkàchoose where you would like to go with the hyperlink
o To delete a hyperlinkàchoose the object with the hyperlinkàgo to the insert menuàchoose hyperlinkàclick remove hyperlink
· Save this file if you wish to do so

· Open a New Notebook
· Adding Objects from Mimio Gallery àClick the object you would like to use and drag it to the notebook
· To add additional lessons to the Gallery àGo to www.mimio.com àclick Teacher Resourcesàclick Activities/Lessons àclick Social Studies àGeography Glossary àsave the fileàgo to the Galleryàclick on the folder where you would like the file to resideàchoose Insert fileàlocate the file you savedàclick open
· Adding other Lessons to Mimio GalleryàGo to http://www.lynnreedy.com/mimio.htm àdownload lessons you would like to use by clicking on the link àchoose saveàname the file with a .ink extension à click saveàgo to the Galleryàclick on the folder where you would like the file to resideàchoose Insert fileàlocate the file you savedàclick open
· Importing Mimio Gallery folders àGo to http://ogdenmimio.wikispaces.com/Activities-+MCF+FILES àclick on the file you wish to importàclick saveàgo to the Galleryàchoose import contentàchoose the file to import (these files must be .mcf formats)
· Another website to use for Mimio gallery is http://www.collier.k12.fl.us/weblessons/techresources/mimio5_gallery.htm this website downloads the content in a .zip file àafter downloading the fileàright click the file choose open with Gallery (notice in the gallery window the file is loading)
· When searching for Mimio files search using the following
o Search Mimio Gallery Files
o Mimio Lessons
o .mcf files
o .ink files
· You may also add Word, PowerPoint, PDF by choosing import from the file menu
· To create a template from a Notebook image
o Drag the Notebook image into the Gallery
o Right click the image in the Gallery
o Choose insert as Template
· Copy a Gallery Item
o Select the item
o Select Copy
o Select the folder where you would like the copy to be
o Select paste
· You may also delete Gallery items
o Before you delete you may want to export the file in which it is contained just in case you need it again
· To find similar itemsàright click the gallery itemà choose open folder
· Exporting a Gallery Folder
o Choose a folder in the Gallery
o Click Export ContentàChoose the location where you would like to export the file
· Day 3
o Delivering Lessons and Presentations
1. Each participant will choose a lesson and present the lesson at the board
2. Use full screen
3. Use the X to exit and the arrows to move forwards and backwards
4. You may also add a new page if needed
o Using the Mimio Pad
1. Use the Mimio Pad to present a lesson using the computer where you are sitting
o Break
o Create a lesson using COS objective from your area of study
1. Use the Calhoun County Curriculum or Use ALEX http://alex.state.al.us/index.php
2. You may use any item available using Mimio or other programs to create your lesson
· If you use another program bring the information into the Mimio Notebook
· Lunch
· Using Mimio Recorder
o Open the Mimio Notebook
o Open the Mimio Tools
o Open the Mimio GalleryàMimimize
o Click Startàchoose programsàMimio StudioàToolsàMimio Recorder
o Use the drop down menu beside the red circle to choose a recording mode
o Click the red circle to begin recording
o Click the recorder item in the system tray to stop recording
o You may save the recording by choosing save as from the file menu
o To preview a recording click the play button
o The recording will play in Windows Media Player
o Once you save the file you may add the item to the Gallery
o You may want to use the recording for a student who missed a lesson
