Members Present: Denise North, Debbie Argo, Sharla Weathers, Jenna Howard, Kaye Ellis, Amy Janzen, and Kahle Goff.

Food:

BREAKFAST: Country Breakfast for $6.25 a plate which includes egg casserole, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and Mini Blueberry Muffins with Butter. A fruit bowl will be an additional charge ($75).

LUNCH: Smoked Brisket with rosemary garlic potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls. No second option recommended by food personnel. Board agreed.

DESSERT: ½ chocolate praline cake, ½ peach cobbler

AFTERNOON SNACKS: assorted cookies and cheese and cracker tray (large $60, medium $45 – will depend on the number registering).

Rooms: There are two rooms reserved. One smaller than the other will be used for food and overflow will be the main room if needed. Rooms assigned are 114 and 130.

Speakers: Denise has requested online, but heard nothing back. Denise will keep checking.

Hotel: Courtyard Marriott, Northwest, 1515 NW Expressway, OKC, OK 73118, Hotel Contact is Ronna Stevens, Phone # 405-848-0808, Arrival date: Nov. 6th; Departure date: Nov 7th, Rate: $83.00 plus tax, single occupancy. Cut-off registration date for rooms Oct. 23rd. 8-10 rooms have been reserved for OKAHEAD registries. This hotel is close to Penn Square Mall (within 6 miles approximately)

Sponsors: No sponsors will be listed but to include a Special Thank You to Metro Tech for use of their facilities.

Conference Time Layout:

  • 8-9 registration and breakfast
  • 9-10:30 OKAHEAD Welcome and Keynote Speaker
  • 10:30-10:45 Break
  • 10:45 – 11:45 Continuation of morning speaker
  • 11:45-1:00 Lunch and Business Meeting
  • 1:00 – 2:15 Round Table Session 1
  • 2:15 – 2:30 Break
  • 2:30-3:30 Round Table Session 2
  • 3:30 – 4:00 Wrap Up

Round Table Session: One facilitator for each table (pre-determined), volunteer scribe from group. Five topics will be available to allow for flexibility. POSSIBLE TOPICS: ADA Restoration Act, Developing Faculty Relationships, Electronic and IT Accessibility Law - 2197, Returning Veterans, and Student Behavior Issues (alternate)

Clip-on Name Tags: Chimene to order 100 at $68.63 for the conference.

Brochure: Change times to reflect schedule above, add booth information, include a special thank you to Metro Technology Centers for the rooms

October Newsletter: Will have information about veteran students, student statewide veteran conference, OKAHEAD Conference announcement, EITA, AT Stipend Nomination, Membership reminder (electronic version available).

Booth Letter: Sharla to find out where Kim is at on that and advise other board members. Pepnet and Metrotech are potential booth vendors.

Spring Election: Reminder for the Board to start thinking about potential board members for next year.
