MLA’S CONFERENCE MENTORING PROGRAM
83rd Annual Meeting

If you will be attending your first national MLA meeting in Atlanta, the Music Library Association would like to extend a special welcome to you by giving you the opportunity to participate in theMLA Conference Mentoring Program.
The intent of the Conference Mentoring Programis to assist a newcomer with getting the most out of the conference. Participants will be matched prior to the conference, and each person will receive an e-mail from the Coordinator with the contact information of your assigned partner.
SIGN UP TO BE EITHER A MENTOR OR A MENTEE!!
Expectations of those participating in the Conference Mentoring Program:
- Answer questions about the structure of MLA, the purposes of the conference, and how those purposes are carried out in the various forums
- Attend a session, roundtable, and/or exhibits together
- Introduce newcomers to people at the conference
Other opportunities for interacting include sharing a meal together or attending poster sessions. Mentors can further assist new MLA members by being friendly and supportive contacts shortly before, throughout, and perhaps after the annual meeting.
All first-time attendees to an MLA meeting will be invited to a First-Time Attendees Program and Buffet Dinner on Wednesday Feb. 26 from 5:00–6:45PM, followed by mentor/mentee match-ups from 6:45-7 PM.Mentors can then escort their mentees to the Opening Reception of the 83rdAnnual Meeting of the Music Library Association at 7:00 PM.
