SAINT JOSEPH’S BOYS SCHOOL
Monday 26th March – Wednesday 4th April 2007
A BIG welcome to St.Joseph’s Boys School! On Monday 26th March 2007 the first group from Year 9 St.Joseph’s Boys school arrived at Creggan Country Park for the first of the renewable energy workshops. The weather was fantastic; nice and sunny so that everyone could see how solar panels work; get a tour of the wind turbine and our hydro electric scheme! Here is the programme:
Time / Event10.45am / Everyone arrived at the park during a nice sunny week and was greeted with some refreshments!
10.50am / The Environmental Officer gave a talk on Climate change and Renewable Energy technologies at Creggan Country Park to help pupils complete their worksheets.
11.20am / Pupils got the chance to see the wind turbine at Creggan Country park and the turbine house!
11.30am / Everyone then went inside the wood burning boiler house to see what it looks like!
11.40am / Pupils got to see our turf roof and the birds that use it.
11:45am / The Environmental Officer gave a demonstration of how Solar PV works by using a special kit!
11.55am / We all made our way down the by wash to see a real hydro-electric scheme!
12.15am / The workshop ended, back to school!!

Tuesday 17th April 2007 – Tuesday 1st May 2007
A big welcome to St.Mary’s College! The first group arrived on Tuesday 17th April at 9am. Here is their programme:
