ANTI - BULLYING POLICY
I. Rationale
In school, children are expected to be cared, protected, loved, respected and taught in order for them to grow as righteous and productive citizens. But due to various incidents of abuse that harmed school children, New Lagao Elementary School in its aim to protect its school children, formulates Policy on Anti- Bullying in response to DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2013.
II - Definition of Terms
1. Bullying- is committed when a student commits an act or series of acts directed towards another student, or a series of single acts directedtowards several students in a school setting or a place of learning, which results in physical and mental abuse, harassment, intimidation, or humiliation.
2. Cyber-Bullying- is any conduct resulting in harassment, intimidation or humiliation, through electronic means or other technology such as, but not limited to texting, e-mail, instant messaging, chatting, internet, social networking websites or other platforms or formats.
III- School Policies
1. New Lagao Elementary School shall strictly implement its Anti-Bullying Policies.
2. It shall immediately deals with bullying complaints inaccordance with the provisions of DepEd
Order 55, s. 2013.
3. Inform school clientele about the School Protection Committee who can assist them in case
they need protection against any act of a aggression.
4. Encourage community involvement in the planning, implementation, monitoring and
evaluation of the School Anti-bullying Policies.
5. Follow the correct procedure in addressing bullying issues as; (1) Classroom Level by
Adviser, (2) School Guidance Office, (3) Child Protection Committee, (4) higher
Office as referred to by the School CPC.
6. Provide assistance to both the bully and the victim through counseling.
7. Impose disciplinary actions to the offender according to the gravity of offense. Possible
disciplinary actions to pupil bullies are reprimand and calling the attention of the parents/
guardian, and suspension from classes. In case of teachers, disciplinary actions will be
reprimand and bringing the case to the higher office for appropriation action. For other
bullies, their attention will be called for a counseling sessions and the case will be referred to
the higher authority.
