Position:Vice President of Programming
Reports To:President
Position Summary:
The Vice President of Programming is the principle program strategist for the organization, determining program direction and implementation in line with the mission, vision and core values of the organization. As the principle program strategist, the Vice President of Programming is expected to promote the learning and sharing of best practices at and through Elim Christian Services. In this way, this position ensures a growing culture of best practice at Elim and a network of sharing that multiplies the kingdom impact of those practices. This will be accomplished primarily by attending to the following leadership duties and responsibilities.
Leadership Duties and Responsibilities:
- Staff Leadership:
- Serve as primary conduit between program directors and the president.
- Directly oversee, evaluate and support the efforts of Elim program directors.
- Work with the Vice President of Finance, HR & Operations to ensure fiscally responsible
programming.
- Serve as a member of the Elim Leadership Team.
- Administrative Leadership:
- Ensure all programs are driven by the mission, vision and core values of the organization.
- Serve as the primary staff conduit to the Program Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Facilitate program development and service delivery reflective of best practices and consistent with a bottom’s up approach.
- Ensure proactive communication and cooperation between programs across the organization.
- Ensure all necessary compliance.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Serve as a member of the Elim Executive Leadership Team.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for Elim programs in line with Elim’s mission, vision and core values.
- Work with the Vice President of Advancement and Outreach to ensure an effective system of sharing best practice programming.
- Other duties as assigned by the President.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Required experience, education and/or training:
- Master’s Degree in special education, educational administration or related field, plus five to seven years’ experience.
- Sincere Christian walk, active involvement in a Christian Church and commitment to a Reformed Christian world view.
- Five years of relevant experience with a successful record of program leadership.
- Proven ability to manage complexity and lead with vision.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
- Proactively seeks solutions to issues before they become problems.
- Demonstrates passion to multiply including a track record of developing future leaders.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate in a manner that demonstrates and fosters cooperation, respect, concern and openness to change.
