Position Description
Title: Operations Clerk-IT

Supervisor: Manager – End User Services
Purpose: Provides a variety of administrative support services such as receiving, tagging and auditing inventories and entering records of equipment on a computerized asset system. This position works primarily in the area of shipping and receiving. Equipment used includes standard office equipment. This position is a part time position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Receives and accounts for IT Equipment
· Verifies purchase orders
· Tags equipment utilizing MPHI standard tags & processes
· Places equipment in area designated
· Inspects for damage received in transit
· Assist in training and assists with special assignments
· Acts on behalf of the supervisor as assigned
· Conducts periodic audits of MPHI IT Equipment across the MPHI Okemos campus
· Processes shipping of merchandise via United Parcel, U.S. Postal Services or freight lines
· Collects obsolete equipment and notifies MPHI selected vendors with regards to disposal needs
· Picks up and delivers MPHI IT Equipment to be stored
· Assists in setting up for special events
· Reviews documents for completeness, conformity to regulations and policy
· Inputs Asset Data into MPHI IT Asset Management Systems
· Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required Knowledge and Abilities.
Experience: Preferred experience includes:
· IT equipment inventory procedures
· Computerized systems, practices and terminology – specifically around Asset Management
· Standard office practices, procedures and equipment as they apply to inventory control and assets
· Basics methods and practices of shipping and receiving.
Important Skills and Characteristics:
· Ability to:
o Coordinate work flow
o Handle delicate equipment and material
o Maintain, apply and communicate policies and procedures relating to MPHI IT Equipment inventory control
o Work independently while recognizing situations that need supervisors attention
o Maintain orderly files and records
o Meet imposed deadlines
o Communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: This position may require the ability to lift up to 50 lb. objects and stand or walk for extended periods of
time. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position.
