The Bill Horn Memorial Shield will be awarded for the best exhibit in show by a Wirral Member.
The Nimrod Trophy, donated by Mr and Mrs N Jackson, will be awarded to the best exhibit entered by a member who has never previously won a prize for Honey or Bee products.

SHOW SCHEDULE
Honey should be in 1lb (454g) identical BS honey jars with matching lids.
Please note no labels to be placed on honey jars.
Class 1. 2 jars LIGHT honey.
Class 2. 2 jars MEDIUM honey.
Class 3. 2 jars DARK honey. (NOTE: classes 1-6 require 2 identical jars)
Class 4. 2 jars CREAMED honey.
Class 5. 2 jars GRANULATED honey.
Class 6. 2 jars of HEATHER honey.
Class 7. 1 FRAME OF HONEY suitable for extraction (either deep or shallow)
Class 8. MISCELLANEOUS EXHIBITS (not photographs)
Class 9. 1 CUT COMB
Class 10. 1 piece of BEESWAX not less than 4ozs (112g)
Class 11. 1 bottle of DRY MEAD in a clear round 75cl bottle
Class 12. 1 bottle of SWEET MEAD in a clear round 75cl bottle
Class 13. 1 jar of LIQUID honey, any colour
(for those who have not previously won a first prize for honey).
Class 14. 1 jar of LIQUID honey, any colour
(confined to beekeepers of five years or less)
Class 15. Photograph of any aspect of beekeeping, maximum size A4
(must be members own photograph and not computer enhanced)
Class 16. DECORATED HONEY FRUIT CAKE
227g Self rising flour 57g mixed peel
227g honey 2 eggs
113g butter pinch of salt and nutmeg
113g currants drop of milk if required
113g sultanas
Cream together butter and honey. Beat eggs and add alternately with the flour and salt. Add fruit peel and nutmeg. Beat lightly but well. Add a little milk if required. Turn into a prepared tin 165mm-190mm in diameter. Bake for approx. 11/2 hours in a moderate oven 170oC/350oF
Class 17. 6 HONEY BISCUITS
2oz honey 4oz Self raising flour
2oz butter White of 1 small egg
pinch of salt
Beat butter and honey together until smooth, add white of egg as needed. Blend flour and salt into mixture. Roll out thinly and cut into rounds about 3 inches across. Prick well and bake in a slow oven until golden brown.
