Nature and Purpose of Agency
Multiservice Volunteers Driven Nonprofit organizationthat helps empower low-income and immigrant communities and families to become self-sufficient through the provision of comprehensive array of programs and services.
Tasks Available for Students
Afterschool Tutors, Computer and Financial Literacy Instructors, Case Management and Referral, Grant Writing, Community Outreach and Organizing, Pre-GED and Adult Literacy Instructors, Arts and Recreation, Program development and Social Services
Time Requirements
The Center is opened Mondays – Fridays from 9:00AM – 6:30 PM. Students may volunteer a minimum of 5 hours a week and a maximum of 30. We are flexible so students can have a set schedule or alternate their hours on an as needed basis. We also open on weekend if the need to provide a particular service or program exist.
Student Awareness/Special Instructions
All students will submit to a free criminal background search. Students are also required to come in appropriately dressed. No exposure of body parts between the knee and chest and arms must be covered down just above elbow.
Upon acceptance, each student will be given a parking sticker which must be affixed to their car to avoid being towed.

Take the S40/90 Busto South Avenue & Richmond Terrace. Walk 0.4 miles(8 minutes) west on Richmond Terrace toward Holland Ave. The entrance is on your left (immediately after passingBetty Court).
You may also take theS48/98 Bus from the Staten Island Ferry to Holland Ave & Benjamin Place (last stop). The property entrance in at the bus stop.
From St. John’s University:
Walk 0.2 miles (4 minutes) South to Arlo Road & Howard Avenue. Take theGrymes Hill bound S66 Busand g1:42 PMet off at Victory Blvd & Forest Ave. From Forest Avenue & Oxford Place, Take the Arlington Terrace/Holland Avenuebound S48 Bus via Forest Avenue and 2:00 PMget off at Holland Avenue & Benjamin Place.
Driving Directions
From Brooklyn/Bayonne:Take the Staten Island Expressway(I 278W) to Exit 6 (south Avenue). Make a right onto South Avenue and continue down to Richmond Terrace. Make a left on Richmond Terrace and your entrances will be on the left immediately past Betty Court.
From Jersey: Take Exit 4 after the Goethals Bridge Toll. Make the First Left onto Meeker Place which becomes Forest Ave. Continue down Forest Avenue to South Avenue. Make a left onto South Avenue and continue down to Richmond Terrace. Make a left on Richmond Terrace and your entrances will be on the left immediately past Betty Court.
