EASTER SUNDAY IS April 5th. In your Easter bonnet with all the Easter frills upon it, pick your church and take your kids. As one priest said the crying and yelling of the little ones is just their way of praying!

OXFORD JUNCTION EASTER EGG HUNT

SATURDAY, APRIL 4th, 10:30 AM at the Wapsie Park. The hunt will be held outside if weather permits, otherwise inside the Legionnaire.

JIM AND SHARON Balichek are celebrating their 50 years of marriage. There will be an Open House at the OJ Senior Center on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 from 5:30-8:30 pm. Renee, Melissa and Sara are hosting the party. No gifts please.

The Massillon Community Church Easter Service will be held April 12th at 6:00 p.m. JoAnne Horstmann will be leading the service. There will be a potluck meal held in the Park Shelter immediately following the service. Everyone is invited and welcome to attend.

Oxford Livewires will meet on Sunday April 12th @ 6:00 in the Sr Center. Regular meeting. Presentations by: Emily Amato, Lauryn Eganhouse, Colin Feuss, Cael Eganhouse, Hunter Wink & Payton Feuss. Anyone else that owes a presentation can makeup this night too. Hosts will be Eli Slouha, Logan Bicknese, Dekota & Payton Feuss.

ST. MARK’S WELCA Will hold their Salad Buffet on Thursday, April 15th starting at 6:30 pm. The theme is “My Cup Runneth Over”. Entertainment will be by Bill and Deb Fordice, former members of St. Mark’s and former OJ teachers.

SACRED HEART Catholic Church in OJ will be having their spring kolache bake on Saturday April 18th. All available hands are needed to help with this fundraising project for the parish.

Wregie Memorial Library will be hosting a Wednesday After School Program for our local children in Preschool through 5th Grade. Each Wednesday from April 8th through May 13th we will be providing stories, games, snacks, a craft, and time to complete homework. Permission slips will go home with your child from School, but are also available at the Library. We hope this program will be fun and beneficial for the community!

The Mabel Vacek Scholarship is available to high school students with OJ addresses, regardless of the high school they are attending. It is also available to college students who met the residency requirements when they were high school students. Applications may be obtained from the Midland Guidance Counselor and must be returned by Friday, April 10th.

------

A $600 scholarship will be given to an applicant by Junction for Opportunity through OJ Improvement, Inc. The applicant is to live in the Midland School district and be enrolled in an apprenticeship program to become a skilled tradesperson such as a plumber, electrician, carpenter or heating, ventilation or cooling technician, welder, or cosmetologist. The applicant does not have to be a 2015 graduate and can be a non-traditional student. Applicant forms are available at the Midland High School Counselor’s Office, Wregie Memorial Library, and O.J. City Hall. The deadline for submitting an application is May 1.

GATHERING Of family and friends celebrating the life of Phyllis Clampitt, 79, of Monmouth was held Monday, March 30th. Those left to honor her memory are her 8 children; 4 brothers including Keith Brown of OJ and 3 sisters.
