Question List for Call to Action Sample Letter
The Sample Letter used in the current Call to Action (Phase IV) is a macro enabled automated fill-in the blanks form that will (if it is opened in Microsoft WORD with macros enabled)open by first opening ‘ASK field boxes’ that will ask you the following questions:
(Please note: we provided hyperlinks and hints in this list to aid you in answering the questions. Use this page to record your answers to each question; then, print out this page as a guide for use in filling in the blanks on the Sample Letter):
- “What is your name?”
The default answer is: “Your Name”; thus, wherever, in the Sample Letter, you see the yellow highlighted “YourName” you need to replace it with your actual name.
- “What is Today’s date?”
The highlighted yellow default date is the date when the form was last printed; thus is you click “x” at the top right corner of the box the date will automatically change to the Print Date. Of course, if you change the default it will print the date you enter in the box.
- “Who is the current [url= General[/url]?”
The default answer is:“Jeff Sessions”; thus, just click “OK”.
- “Where is your State’s law code regarding Quo Warranto actions?”
You can find this by searching for “Quo Warranto” in the State Court Rules; which you can find online via Team Law’s Online Resources page; navigate to the bottom of the page and select the:“Civil Procedures Link” from the heading: “State Code Links & Civil Procedures Link”. On selection, the LexisNexis Legal Resources page will open. Select the desired link from the State name list. Agree to the terms of use. Select the appropriate link from the list; in this case we selected “Colorado Court Rules”. In the Search box type “Quo Warranto”. Respectively, for Colorado, we found: “C.R.C.P. Rule 106.(a)(3)” Default: “(Example: for Colorado Code, it is: \“C.R.C.P. Rule 106.(a)(3)\””
- “For what State’s Congressmenare you filing this request?”
The answers to this and the next six (6) questions are found in the linked page; find t6he answers and write them down here after each question posed. Default: “My State”
- “Was your current Congressman seated prior to January 20, 2013?”
- “What is the name of your Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives?”
Default: “MyRepresentative”
- “Was your current Senior Senator seated prior to January 20, 2013?”
- “What is the name of your State's Senior Senator in the U.S. Senate?”
Default: “Senior Senator”
- “Was your current Junior Senator seated prior to January 20, 2013?”
- “What is the name of your State’s Junior Senator in the U.S. Senate?”
Default: “Junior Senator”
- “What Federal District Court presides over your local Congressional District?”
Find the court name using the hyperlink and write the answer here and wherever you see the default answer (Federal District Court for My State) in the Sample Letter’s forms.
- “In what city/town is the Federal District Court that presides over federal cases brought in your local?”
Replace the default Answer (SomeTown) with the actual town name wherever you see it in the Sample Letter
- “What Congressional District are you in?”
Replace (MyState - District #) with the actual District wherever it is in the Sample Letter
- “What is your mailing location (mailing address)?”
- “What is the name of the County wherein the Affidavit included with this instrument will be notarized?” Replace (CountyName) with the actual County Name where the Notary will witness.
If you cannot use the automated fill-in-the-blank macro, you can use WORD’s replace function by selecting the highlighted text in this form and replacing it throughout the Sample Letter with the correct answer to the ASK field questions. Once the form is completed select everything (Ctrl+ a); then, select highlight in yellow; do it twice to remove all highlighting in the form.
