Your guide to the 2016 District Camporee, this is. Jedi’s, Rebels, and Scouts of Thunder Wolf District who oppose the dark side will gather in a galaxy far far away to test their Scout skills. Leadership, teamwork, and Patrol spirit, to succeed you will require. A mandatory requirement it is to have fun. Only by planning and using each member’s skills, successful will you be. Patrols will visit at least 5 of the 10 competition activities Saturday morning and in the afternoon visit the rest, you will. Each Patrol must visit all 10 areas. Calculated Saturday evening and reported Sunday morning, Patrol scores will be.

1. GENERAL INFORMATION
Date: March 4-6 2016
Schedule: Campsites ready for set-up beginning at 6:00 pm, Friday evening. Check-in at Headquarters. Checkout is Sunday morning, after assembly. When you are ready to leave on Sunday morning, send a representative to the Camp Headquarters to request a campsite inspection. If your campsite is ready for departure, you will be issued patches.

Registration Fees: $10.00 Participant Fee (each Scout and registered adult member)
$5.00 Optional Shooting Fee at the Storm Trooper Blaster Range
10 rounds (Scouts only)
Registration: Online Registration will begin January 18, 2016 and will close on Wednesday March 2, 2016. Please contact Troy Meinen for alternate registration options. Payment is due on arrival at the camp. A complete roster of all participants in your unit is required at the SM/SPL meeting Friday night. Sorry no siblings are allowed at this District event.
2. MEDICAL FORMS
Upon arrival at Camporee each Troop representative will need to present a packet with Medical form Parts A & B for each adult and Scout attending. Packets must also contain the SHAC permission slip for each Scout. Packets will be reviewed and then returned to the unit to be maintained in their respective campsites. Each Scout and registered adult member must also complete the Talent Release portion of the medical form, as we will be taking photos and publishing them. If you do not wish to have your photo taken please let it be known at check in.

3. TOUR PERMITS
Because Camporee is a District event, a Local Tour Permit is NOT required.
4. UNIFORMS
Full Field Uniform is to be worn while traveling to and from Camporee, during all flag ceremonies, worship services, the Order of the Arrow Ceremony Saturday evening, and during general assembly Sunday morning. All other times, costumes aligned to the Star Wars theme or activity uniforms (any Scout t-shirt) may be worn.
There will be prizes for the best costumes.
5. LEADERS MEETING
10:15 pm Friday evening. All Boy Scout Troop Senior Patrol Leaders and a Scoutmaster from each Troop should be in attendance for final instructions and schedules. Please bring a chair and be prepared to take notes. We will meet at HQ.

7. PATROL DUTCH OVEN COOK OFF
Wickets Culinary Competition
Saturday evening each Boy Scout Troop may present one dish for the Cook Off. This dish can be any entree or desert of your choosing cooked in a dutch oven. If your Troop has several Patrols who are cooking a dish you will need to vote on which one dish is to be presented. Units must bring their own ingredients and cooking equipment to Camporee. Cook-off entries will be prepared at your own unit’s campsite. More details for this event will be communicated during the Leaders’ Meeting on Friday night. Points will be awarded on appearance, taste, complexity and incorporation of the theme.
8. SCOUTS OWN SERVICE
Camporee staff with the assistance of Chaplain Aides from each troop will hold a nondenominational service for all participants on Saturday Morning. Each unit should send their Chaplain Aide 15 minutes prior to the service on Saturday morning.
9. PARKING
Park in designated parking areas only. Vehicles will not be permitted to be parked at Troop campsites. Unit Trailers may be left in their campsite as long as wheels are blocked and trailer is secured when unattended.
10. CAMPSITES
Each Troop will be assigned a campsite adequate for the number of Scouts indicated on your Troop registration form. A large number of last minute additions may result in overcrowding of campsites so please have an accurate count for Registration. Be reminded to have a First Aid Kit, Trash Bags, Duty Roster, and Meal Planner visible in your campsite. Highly recommended Star Wars themed camp gadgets are.
11. COOKING & FIRES
Each Boy Scout Troop will be responsible for its own meals, furnish and cook their own food, as well as provide all equipment for preparation, serving, and cleaning up meals. A Fire Station/Fire Guard Posting must be in place before any cooking or campfires may occur. No liquid fuels are allowed per SHAC policy, and you may not build an open fire on the ground anywhere. Existing Camp Fire rings are allowed. Please bring in your own wood/charcoal/ fire pit/sand if you choose to build a fire. Propane stoves are allowed. Remember that all materials brought in must be taken out. Campsite ash must be removed; do not put ash in the trashcans.
12. WATER
Fresh water will be available at Camporee. All Troops should bring their own containers to transport water back to their campsites as needed.
13. TRASH
The Thunder Wolf District Camporee will adhere to the LEAVE NO TRACE practices. All trash must leave with your Unit and unburned firewood should be carried out. Remember “Carry in – Carry Out.” Violators will be placed in a trash compactor and R2-D2 will not be available to save them.
14. FIRST AID & SAFTEY
There will be a First Aid station staffed Saturday for any Scout or Scouter needing assistance. The First Aid station will be centrally located and marked with a Red Cross sign. Please be sure to advise your patrol members of its location, which will be announced at Friday’s Leaders Meeting
15. CHECK OUT & PATCHES
When you are ready to leave on Sunday morning, send a representative to the Camp Headquarters to have a staff member visit your campsite for inspection. If your campsite is ready for your departure, you will be given your patches.
16. DISABLITIES
Scouts with a physical disability are encouraged to participate in all Camporee activities. Patrols will not be penalized for a Scout’s inability to complete a challenge due to disability.
17. CANCELLATION
Camporee will happen rain or shine. “Be Prepared” for all types of weather and conditions. Camporee will not have an alternate or rain date.
18. CAMPSITE INSPECTION
Campsite inspections will take place for all Boy Scout Troops sometime Saturday afternoon. The Unit with the highest point total will be recognized. Special criteria for this year’s campsite inspection will be defined and communicated during the Leaders’ Meeting on Friday night.
19. Scout Spirit
Patrol flags, patrol yells, a great team dynamic, and good sportsmanship will all come into play! Costumes that are aligned to the Star Wars theme are encouraged during the day on Saturday, and will count toward the Spirit Competition.

22. Storm Trooper Blaster Practice Range
In all of the Galaxy there is no worse sharp shooter than the Galactic Empire Storm Trooper. Most Storm Troopers could not hit the broad side of a tie fighter much less actually take down a Wookie or Rebel Trooper. Practice makes perfect so spend some time honing your skills on the Storm Trooper Blaster Range.

Are you prepared for the Battle of Endor, Join the Ewoks using your bow to assist the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the fight against the Galactic Empire. Only by destroying all of the Galactic droids will the Alliance prevail.
