Irina Gorbman is an accomplished self-taught meditative abstract artist with mechanical engineering and business consulting careers in the past, who also designs derivative, original-based, patterns for fabrics, accent wallpapers and fashionable & sport outfits.
Irina's abstract expressionistic oil on canvas paintings, wearable art collections, artistic fabrics and corresponding accent wallpapers were showcased at Architectural Digest Design Shows in NYC (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 scheduled), Boston Fashion Week, Boston Home Décor Show, Boston Design Center, DDB on Manhattan, San Francisco, W. Hollywood, galleries, and fundraising events across the country. She works with design companies, showrooms and private clients.
While Irina is a self-taught artist working in her own meditative style, art patrons compared her works to Edvard Munch, Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning and Edouard Manet paintings. The switch from a traditional (in the eyes of her parents) career in mechanical engineering and international relations to art creation happened over 10 years ago after a postpartum mini-stroke and then became a self-healing profession.
Art That Heals™ is the artist's motto and vision that people experience while looking at her abstracts. Irina’s color vibrancy affects people at a subconscious level and creates an interior with uplifting aura.
