Milk Carton Request and Cereal Box Request
I am going to start collecting cereal boxes as of next week. These will also be used to make our castle. Thank you to those people who have been bringing in two liter milk cartons. I am continuing to collect them. I hope to have enough to make a castle in January. Thank you!
Fire Safety
Thank you to Roy Bridgeman and Henri Leblanc for their fire safety presentation. A draw was held for two prizes and the winners were…..Dominic Kuhl and Ty Love. Congratulations boys!
We hope to be able to go for a tour of the fire station and stay for a hot dog lunch sometime in the near future.
Fallapalooza
Our Fallapalooza week was a lot of fun with many funny looks going on in our school. I think we especially enjoyed wacky hair day! Thank you parents for participating in these fun events.
Thank you to Mrs. Vanstone (Gr.1) and Mr. Bataluk (Gr. 8), for organizing the penny carnival for Friday afternoon.
Bears
Our new thematic unit will be beginning in November. This unit is a unit on bears. We will be doing a lot of fun things, such as going on a Teddy Bear Picnic (November 29th), having our Teddy Bears come for the week, Teddy Math, Teddy Crafts and much more. Please watch for information coming home next week.
Animated Literacy
We have been introduced to a few more animated literacy friends. They are X, M, and A.
We have now learnt the following alphabet letters: A,M,O,P,U, and X. In November we will be introduced to the letters D, T,S and R. We will also look at the words Dad, and Stop. Please ask your child about these letters, and their actions and sounds.
Scholastic Book Orders
Unfortunately Scholastic Canada will only accept Credit Card or Cheque from us when we order so I ask when ever possible if you could send a cheque for you orders this would be greatly appreciated. You may write ONE cheque for both See-Saw and Elf, you do not need two separate cheques. Thank you!

Terry Fox
All of our students participated in the Terry Fox Run on Monday October 18th at 12:00. We appreciated the warmer weather to be able to go on our walk. Thank you Mr. Unrau and Mr. Blagden for organizing this event!
Christmas Concert
Our Christmas concert date has been set for December 9th at 7:00. The snow date will be December Wednesday December 15th at 7:00. Mrs. Froese is still in the process of deciding who will do what, and exactly what this will look like. We will send home information with your child when it is available.
Parent Teacher Interviews
These interviews are a stress free time led by your child. Your son/daughter will lead you through their portfolios and then we will have time meet afterwards. I will send home a sheet with report cards where you can indicate a time that would work best for you. I will try my very best to accommodate all wishes. Interviews will last about 20 minutes. As I have 16 kids in the class I ask that you please respect these time limits so everyone has a chance to meet with me. If you should need to meet longer than this we can most certainly set up another interview at a later date. Thank you! I look forward to seeing you all once again.
