Your assignment will be to open a business and compose, type, and present a business plan. As a guide to composing your business plan, refer to the handout titledwriting a business planUse a word process to key your plan, which shouldinclude a cover sheet and the following:

Business Plan

  • The name of your business
  • The form of your business (What type; sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, etc.)
  • The location of your business
  • A description of your product or service
  • Name(s) of your competitors
  • Your marketing strategy (How will you convince people to buy your product or service?)
  • Leading entrepreneur profile
  • Names and titles of key employees

You will construct a presentation that highlights each section of your business plan for presentation to possible investors.

Helpful tips in completing your Business Plan Project

An explanation of each section of the business plan.

Charts entered in a spreadsheet program and slides typed in presentation software

emphasizing short- and long-term goals.

Remember:You are making a presentation.

You are attempting to “sell” the idea of your product or service to people who
may be willing to invest in your new venture.

Your cover sheet should be eye appealing with appropriate graphics.

Your graphics should be appropriate and related to information on each slide.

Your general plan should be detailed. (Follow the outline from the handout titled “Writing A Business Plan.”

Your business plan should be keyed in a word processor and be neat and error-free.
