Safe Grad Night 2018

Dear Old Saybrook Parents:
Safe Grad Night is a special event held each year for graduating seniors of Old Saybrook High School. The purpose of Safe Grad Night is to provide our young adults with an exciting and memorable night in a fun and safe setting. The night will be held in June, 2018. Sadly, national statistics indicate that graduation night is one of the most dangerous times for young people, whose celebrations too often end in tragedy. In Old Saybrook, our community has come together and taken steps to create an inclusive event that assures all our town's graduating seniors have a safe, sober, and fun graduation night no matter what their means.
Safe Grad Night has been a tradition in our town for over sixteen years. Each year, a committee of dedicated parents forms to plan and carry out the surprise event for our young adults. An activity-filled night at a special venue, with food and transportation, plus prizes and entertainment, can cost approximately $150 per student. The committee is working hard to keep costs within reason, get the best deals possible, and raise funds to fully support the event so that every senior can attend Safe Grad Night at no cost to them!
We are asking – actually URGING! – every Old Saybrook school system family to make a donation to support Safe Grad Night. Your tax-deductible donation will be used to support the event for the Class of 2018 and to form seed money to be passed along to the next parent committee for the Class of 2019, and beyond.
Your student will be a high school senior before you know it! Although graduation may seem far away for some of you, it truly comes along very quickly. Become part of the tradition of Safe Grad Night in Old Saybrook by making a donation. Your contribution will help to keep this vibrant tradition going for high school seniors now and in the future.
