What happens at a Parity day service
When a new student arrives on theirfirst day at the Parity for Disability day service, theyare greeted by the staff who manage the service.After being shown around the day service, the focus will be getting to know each other, finding out likes and dislikes.
A typical day at Parity starts at 9.30am and ends between 3.30 and 4pm. Lunchtime is between 12.30 and 2pm. Students usually bring their own packed lunches from home, including snacks. The day service has a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and oven to heat food up or cook a meal from scratch.
Activities can vary from indoor and outdoor. They are planned around the individual so the structure of the day can be flexible.Visitour website to get an idea of the types of activities:
Students are welcome to bring in items from home.
All Parity staff are fully trained to handle medication. Keyworkers administer medication as required. They are also trained to assist with personal care.
Each student isassigned a keyworkerto coordinatesupport. Eventually, the student will develop an Individual Programme Plan, which sets personal goals and targets.
Staff at Parity are dedicated to providingstudents with a warm, fun and stimulating environment, as well as varied activities tailored to each person.
About the area
Each day service is located in a quiet area. Within walking distance there are local shops. There arealso nearby parks, pubs and cafés.With Parity’s minibuses, there arelots of options for outings further afield like Basingstoke, the south coast and London. The servicesare nearby to Camberley and Farnborough town centres.

Parity for Disability organises fundraising events throughout the year, from local bake sales and collections to sponsored challenges. We like students to be involvedwherever possible if they wish.
