PHOENIX INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
APPLICATION SUPPLEMENT FORM
MnDOT’s Phoenix Program is a partnership between MnDOT and Project Lead the Way that provides paid internships for high school students enrolled in pre-engineering courses at area PLTW high schools. By interning at various MnDOT offices and Districts statewide, Phoenix Interns gain on-the-job work experience in a variety of areas.
PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be considered for the program, applicants must meet all the following requirements:
- Must be a high school junior going into their senior year (with at least one year left until graduation).
- Must be enrolled in pre-engineering courses at a Project Lead the Way High School.
- Must be available to work up to 15 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the school breaks.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applying to the Phoenix Internship Program is a 2 step process!
STEP 1 – Apply online at the State of Minnesota Career’s website (follow step by step instruction below):
- Visit Create an account; once you have an account, login and select “My Activities."
- Click on "add application (authorized use only)"--this is at the bottom of the page.
- You will need to input the following:
- Agency Code: T79MN
- Job Opening ID: 20342
- Pin: 131945
- Go through the application process, and apply.
PLEASE NOTE: The above Job ID & PIN change each year; The Job ID and pin listed above are effective February – May 2018.
Thisapplication supplement form must be uploaded in the attachments section of your online application. Please note a resume must also be submitted; the online application only allows for one attachment. As such, please copy and paste your resumes on the last pageof this supplement form to ensure it is included in the attachments. You must submit completed application supplement to be considered for the program.

STEP 2– Submit unofficial transcript to the Phoenix Program Manger
After applying to the Phoenix Program online, applicants must send the Program Manager a copy of their unofficial transcripts by email or letter (via mail or fax). Submissions can be sent to:
