The Peralta Community College District (PCCD) FunctionsMap is intendedto provide a picture ofhow the fourColleges and the District Office manage the distribution of responsibility spanning respective institutionalfunctions. The Functions Mapis based on the Policy and Proceduresfor the Evaluation of Institutions In Multi-College/Multi-UnitDistricts or Systems of ACCJC/WASC.

The Functions Map was originally produced in 2014as the result of a collaborative dialogueamong the four Colleges and the District (Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, LaneyCollege, Merritt College, and the Peralta Community College District Office).

TheFunctionsMap includes indicatorsthat depict the level and type of variousresponsibilities, asfollows:

P = Primary Responsibility: Primary responsibility indicates overarchingleadership and oversight in thedesign, development, implementation, and successful integration of a given function in the widest context.

S = Secondary Responsibility: Secondary responsibility indicates varying levels ofcollateral support of functions, e.g., technical, logistical, and enhancedcommunications, toassist in the successful integration of any given function.

SH = Shared Responsibility: Shared responsibility indicates that the District and the College are equally responsible for the leadership and oversight of a given function.

N/A = Responsibility Not Applicable: In cases where neither the District nor the College hasresponsibility because the Standard does not apply.
