To Kill a Mockingbird Project

To Kill a Mockingbird RAFT

What is a RAFT? A RAFT allows you to connect with the text in a different, creative way. A RAFT allows you to show me that you understand a concept, setting, event, or character in the book in a way that goes beyond just “getting the plot”. You can share with me what you know about To Kill a Mockingbird by choosing an activity that most appeals to your interest and learning styles.

RAFT is an acronym that stands for:

Role of the writer: WHO is the writer and/or artist? WHAT is the writer’s role?

Audience: WHO will be reading or looking at what the writer has to say?

Format: WHAT is the presentation of the project? A poem, letter, drawing, map, advertisement,

article, report?

Topic: WHAT is the issue or topic the writer writing about? Alternately, WHO is the writer writing about?
