Dear Northern Virginia Pre-Alumni,

The Virginia State University Alumni Association - Northern Virginia Chapter, Incorporated is pleased to consider you for a grant to Virginia State University for the 2018 fall semester.

Attached you will find an application for our grant. The application can also be downloaded from our website, Application forms must be typed and postmarked or emailed to Wilbert

J. Briggs, Sr. at by March 21, 2018. All of the criteria below must be met and submitted together in one packet. Incomplete packets will not be considered.

- Submit a completed grant application.

- Submit a current copy of your Transcript. (Copies are accepted)

- Demonstrate economic need as verified by your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a copy of the FAFSA will suffice.

- Submit an essay of 200-250 words. Essay Topic: "Based upon what you know now, what is the true value of an education to you?

Essay Topic: Based upon what you know now, what is the true value of an education to you?

The essay must be typed, doubled-spaced, at least 200 - 250 words, and a font of a minimum 10 point and a maximum 12 point. The essay will be rated on content, depth, grammar, organization, and originality. If needed, add an additional page.
