Position Summary
This part-time position provides overall direction for the Children’s Ministry (Infant-5th Grade) through vision casting and leadership. This position will be primarily responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and caring for10-15 volunteers that serve in Children’s Ministry as team leaders, story tellers, small group leaders and student leaders. You will also help coordinate VBS and other special events. Our multi-site approach to ministry requires this position to work closely with Calvary’s Children’s Ministry Pastor.
Responsibilities
LEADERSHIP
- Oversee the Sunday morning program for children
- Work with Children’s Pastor to create environments wherekidscan connect with God and love coming to
- Work with Children’s Pastor to produce curriculum for story tellers and small groups leaders
- Assist with special events as designated by the Children’s Pastor & Campus Pastorsuch as VBS and summer camp
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT
- Lead 5-6team leaders, connect through weekly contacts and monthly social meetings
- Provide team leaders, story tellers, and small group leaders with weekly curriculum guides
- Support team leaders through needed updates and accessibility
- Support team leaders, story tellers, and small group leaders in their personal and spiritual growth
- Interview, assimilate, and placeteam leaders, small group leaders, storytellers, and student leaders in teams
- Oversee recruitment and training of volunteers
- Coordinate periodic volunteer appreciation gifts and/or events
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Propose and supervise department budget
- Oversee promotional and communication pieces
- Attend monthly Children’s Ministry staff meetings, curriculum editing meetings, Connections Campus team meetings,and monthly all staff lunch
- Assist in leading family milestone events such as Baby Dedication, Baptism, and Parenting classes
Required Gifts and Skills
The ideal candidate for this positionis a Christ-follower with the spiritual gifts of administration, shepherding, and teaching; a bachelor’s degree; or 3-5 years of previous experience in Children’s Ministry.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm (flexible 12 hours)* (during VBS and Camps this flexes up)
Sunday 9:00am–12 noon (3 hours)
In addition – All Children’s Ministry events, camps, and retreats as scheduled
