LENGTH OF TOUR: 3 YEARS – Subject to program continuance; members successfully completing initial tour will be afforded priority for tour extension, after completing initial tour.

AGR PROGRAM BENEFITS: Salary is determined by military grade and time in service. Member is authorized Subsistence allowance, Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH), thirty (30) days annual leave; medical and dental care. TRICARE Standard coverage for dependents. Military Exchange and Commissary privileges.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates and synchronizes operations of the Joint Force Headquarters and the Joint Operations Center. Responsibilities include: development of the state annual training plan and budget, development of the state inactive duty for training (IDT) plan. Supervises the distribution of training funds associated with the IDT plan. Maintains oversight of the state schools program, policies, guidance and accounts. Supervises the state ammunition program, forecasts and execution. Supervises the state digital training management system (DTMS). Responsible for training and mentorship to Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) Operations Sergeants Majors. Chairs the Training Readiness Enhancement Committee (TREC) developing improvement processes in the areas Training and Readiness. Responsible for training program for new Training and Readiness NCOs with the assistance of the J1 HRDS and in coordination with the NGB Professional Education Center. Develops, prepares and submits state operational and training budget requirements from JFHQ staff sections, Major Subordinate Commands and submits to NGB. Receives, reviews and forwards unfunded requirements (UFRs) to NGB. Sitting member of the State safety council. Sitting member and participates in the training planning team meetings. Senior enlisted advisor to the director of training and operations. NCOIC for all enlisted FTS in the training and operations section.

WHO MAY APPLY: For Merit Announcements, eligibility is limited to personnel currently in the Minnesota Army National Guard who are serving Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) tours. Current AGRs must have a minimum of 18 months in the program to be eligible for reassignment.
