Team Phoenix Vision Statement
Team Phoenix Teachers and Students will be “Fired Up to Learn”. Just as the Phoenix is known for its ability to regenerate from its own ashes, Team Phoenix students will begin each day as a new beginning: We will work cooperatively towards success by being on time, being prepared, and being respectful of others and ourselves.
Teacher Hours of Availability
Your team teachers are available for extra support during 6th block Resource. Please see individual teacher for specific times.
Team PhoenixBehavior Policy
All communities develop expectations and consequences related to those expectations. Team Phoenix is a “community” within our school. The following rules have been developed to ensure that while in school our students have a safe and productive place in which to learn.
***AGENDA – Students will record ALL assignments in their agenda. In addition, the agenda is used as a hall pass. Therefore, in case of a “lost” agenda, students must purchase another one at a cost of $10.00.
In addition to the rules outlined in the Student Handbook, students should be respectful, be responsible, and be the best that he/she can be. Everyone will be expected to follow these guidelines at all times and will face the consequences in accordance with Harmony Middle School and Loudoun County Public Schools.
Team Phoenix Retake Policy:
Please refer to the student handbook found in your student planner for the specific, school-wide policy.
Team Phoenix Homework Policy
Outside preparation is part of any classroom. Team Phoenix teachers feel that completing homework and class work is an important way to review material and prepare for class; therefore, for the purpose of reinforcing the ideas from the day’s class, we expect students to STUDY/PRACTICE/READ every evening. Homework will be reviewed daily to ensure understanding for future assessments.
Absences:
If a student is absent from class, it’s his or her responsibility to get the class assignment(s) from the teacher the first day he or she is back in school. We suggest the student check the teacher’s page on the Harmony Middle School website daily at
Loudoun County policy states that a student has one day to make up any work per day missed. This policy will stand with Team Phoenix unless prior arrangements have been communicated.
When a student’s absence causes him or her to miss a previously announced quiz, test, or project, it will be made up and/or turned in the first day he or she returns to that class. All assigned projects must be turned in prior to an excused absence.
