Stable View Announces Reduced Entry Fees, Expanded Prize Offerings and Welcomes William Fox-Pitt in January!
Stable View, in Aiken, South Carolina, is one of the region’s preeminent international equestrian training facilities, and, as a result of its ongoing growth is pleased to announce the expansion of it’s facility offerings, event schedule and support for the equestrian sport in 2017.
The inaugural Advanced Oktoberfest Horse Trials hosted international level competitors vying for unprecedented prize money on the newly constructed and challenging Advanced level cross country course, designed by Captain Mark Phillip’s and built by ETB Equine Construction. Plans are underway to build and complete the Intermediate level course by late spring of 2017 with anticipation of running all the levels, including Intermediate and Advanced, at the 2017 Oktoberfest Horse Trials.
January Aiken Opener
In an effort to show continued support of Eventing, Stable View is kicking off it’s 2017 season by offering competitors approximately 30% off their traditional entry fees for all divisions at the Aiken Opener on January 14th and 15th. The Aiken Opener will run over the new cross country course and will be in a one day format on Saturday and Sunday. Competition levels for this USEA recognized event will be for the Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels.
The Aiken Opener is an excellent opportunity for riders to come and gallop over Stable View’s expansive cross country course, which has been meticulously groomed and maintained with Winter Rye, insuring the best footing that nature can provide in the region. The Aiken Opener will start on the opposite side of the property by the Kennels instead of near the Grass Dressage Arenas, offering a new perspective to riders familiar with the venue.
Entries open for the Aiken Opener on November 29th.
William Fox-Pitt Clinic Scheduled as Preface to January 31st Horse Trials
Stable View was recently appointed by the USEF as an Official Winter Training Facility for the US High Performance Eventing Team for the fourth year in a row. In addition, Stable View holds fun and informative clinics, demonstrations and Master Classes with industry notables such as William Fox-Pitt, Boyd Martin and Phillip Dutton.
This winter season, William Fox-Pitt is scheduled to teach 3 days of clinics to riders of all levels from January 28th - 30th, and he will remain at Stable View to compete in the USEA recognized horse trials January 31st & February 1st!

Honoring Our Master Riders
In addition Stable View would like to honor our more senior competitors who are out there at every horse trial showing their talent through the newly created Master Rider’s Award! Stable View will be awarding prizes to the top placed Master Rider in the Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels at the January 31st - February 1st horse trials! All competitors who are 55 years of age or older at the time of the event are eligible to compete.
Introducing The 21 Challenge Series for Eventing’s Young Riders
Stable View recognizes that the sport of Eventing needs to support the developing generations in order to grow, thus they have partnered with Fair Hill International and Plantation Field Horse Trials to offer an attractive award to top Young Riders. Beginning at their March 21st & 22nd 2017 Horse Trials, Stable View will kick off the new 21 Challenge Young Rider Series.
Targeting Young Riders at the Preliminary and 1* level, competitors will vie for the top cumulative results at Stable View, Fair Hill and Plantation Field spring horse trials. Riders must begin the series by competing at Stable View’s March 21st & 22nd, 2017 Horse Trials. The series will continue onto Fair Hill International’s April 14th-16th and Plantation Field’s May 13th-14th Horse Trials. Results will be tallied on the best average scores from those events, with riders choosing to compete at one or both Fair Hill and Plantation Field Horse Trials. The award will be presented at the conclusion of Plantation Field’s May Horse Trials!
Prizes to be awarded to the top three competitors will include up to one month’s free board, use of all the facilities’ equestrian amenities, on-site apartment accommodations and the opportunity to attend training sessions at Stable View during the 2018 season.

A Multi-Discipline Equestrian Destination
Founded in 2010, Stable View has quickly evolved into one of the East Coast’s finest equestrian training facilities, meeting and exceeding the needs of Olympic level riders such as Kim Severson, Boyd and Silva Martin and Will Coleman. The expansive property features several custom designed barns, a 300’ X 250’ state of the art covered arena, an equally sized outdoor stadium ring and outdoor dressage arena. All of the arenas feature the industry’s most advanced technical footing, provided by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces.
Year round, Stable View also hosts a wide variety of equestrian events, ranging from schooling shows to USEA, USEF and USDF sanctioned horse shows and hunter trials. A Gathering Place with Top Notch Amenities & Sponsorship Opportunities
What makes Stable View unique is that it is truly “A Gathering Place” for the surrounding community and for tourists who travel to Aiken as well. In addition to their impressive equestrian offerings, the 1000 acre facility also hosts Chamber of Commerce events, Weddings, and has 13 separate lodging options to suit those looking for a weekend get-a-way or a larger corporate retreat.
Plans are underway to break ground on the new Pavilion which will be positioned between the Outdoor Arena and the Derby Field. The new structure will primarily house VIP’s, owners and riders, but when not being used at events it will be used as a conference center. The facility will have a kitchen, elevator, offices, and IT room and will accommodate weddings, corporate retreats, community events and family reunions.
