The Aims of the Group are:

  • To support the work of the Elphinstone Institute and its objectives: to study, record and promote the cultural traditions and language of communities in the North and North East of Scotland.
  • To establish closer ties between the Elphinstone Institute and communities in the North and North East of Scotland
  • To help the Elphinstone Institute raise funds.

If you would like to become a Friend of the Institute or renew your membership (due in September), please enter your details below and include an annual membership fee of £12.00 (or US $20.00) made out to‘The Friends of the Elphinstone Institute’and post to: The Secretary, The Friends of the Elphinstone Institute, The Elphinstone Institute, MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, AB24 5UA, Scotland.

You will receive newsletters and a copy of the constitution (new members only). There is an annual Ballad Bus outing; and open evening at the Elphinstone Institute.
