TraineePosition: Dye Room in Costume Department of High End TV Drama. Full time Fixed term. Based in Wolf Studios Cardiff and on location as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic international production company producing television drama at the very highest level, in Wales.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated individualwho positively wants to be a dyer / breakdown person. Please note: Thisposition is specific to the dyeroom and not a gateway into anotheraspect of costume work.

Key responsibilities may include:

- Working in a team to breakdown and age costumes ready for fittings and/ or shooting. This may involve dyeing, painting, spraying and/or mechanical abrasion.

-Ensuring costumes are ready when required for fittings / shooting.

-Working at the studios or on set and/or crowd base to break down costumes.

-Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are followed stringently.

-Any other duties required by the Head of Breakdown including errands, organisation of workplace and general running duties.

You will be based at Wolf Studios in Cardiff Bay, at other sites or on location and must be willing to travel to other locations and studios as necessary. Working hours will relate to the filming schedule andit is likely that the successful candidate will be expected to work long unsociable hours, which may include weekends,inside and outside, in all weather conditions, as required.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

No particular academic requirements are required and each application will be considered on its own merits. All shortlisted applicants will evidence and demonstrate in their initial application:

-A demonstrable interest in and some experience of textile dying and/or breakdown.

-An understanding of textiles and the differences between them.

-An ability to make creative judgements, under the guidance of the design team.

-Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise your own work.

-A willingness to take on board new skills and techniques.

-An ability to communicate with a variety of different people.

-A level of physical stamina and dexterity appropriate to the role.

-That the candidate is a proven team player with an ability to take and follow instructions.
