WOOL MARKET REPORT – 21 OCTOBER 2015

On the 10de wool auction of the 2015/2016 season, the Cape Wools merino wool market indicator increased by 1.3%

to close on 12323c per kg clean. This is approximately 12.85% higher than a year ago.

Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of

35 (NKT) were as follows:

18 µ 13567 (1.6%) 21 µ 12080 (1.4%)

19 µ 12868 (3.0%) 22 µ 12053 (2.0%)

20 µ 12342 (2.4%) 23 µ 11530 (1.9%)

The main buyers on the sale were: G Modiano (2,327 bales), Standard Wool (2,138 bales)

Lempriere South Africa (1,484 bales). Of the 7,949 bales offered 7,855 bales were declared sold (98%).
