CHINESE NEW YEAR: Throughout the school, children have been celebrating Chinese New Year by taking part in various related activities. In KS2,children have been making: terracotta warriors out of clay, concertina dragons, paper horses, lanterns and masks. The older children in KS1 enjoyed helping the younger children make and decorate their artwork. “As an activity, last Friday, we made terracotta soldiers. We learnt the story behind them, it was fascinating. After helping each other build our ‘clay men’, they were put together as an army”, Daniel, Year 6

NURSERY VISITORS: As part of Nursery’s food topic, Mrs Mbanu, Parent Governor, visited our Nursery children and made bean fritters. Every child took home a bag of ingredients to try them at home, too. They also had a visit from Mr & Mrs Agostini who explained the traditions of Chinese New Year including: the sharing of red envelopes and how people get ready for spring time. The children dressed up in traditional Chinese costumes and made lanterns. Thank you to all our visitors.
