Throughout this chapter we have discussed the many factors and theories that lead to as well as explain why human beings engage in deviant and criminal behavior. We have taken extensive class room time to discuss as well as apply the various causation theories to real life examples and actual criminals in our society. In an attempt to hone your skills in applying the behavioral theories we will now progress to a new task, creating a behavioral profile for the character Buffalo Bill in the movie entitled Silence of the Lambs.

As you review this movie there are several tasks which need to be completed. In the following pages you will be given several tasks. In a typed, double spaced essay, one page minimum, formulate a persuasive essay in which you create a behavioral profile for Buffalo Bill. Be sure to include evidence from your investigation form in this packet to support you position. Be sure to explain why your behavioral theory fits the actions of Buffalo Bill and why the other remaining theories do not fit his actions. You may combine theories in order to explain his actions.
