The Gordon County School System requests your bid to purchase various makes and models of surplus buses offered through the Transportation Department.

Responses to this Invitation to Bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Bid No. 2018-02, Surplus Bus Sale, GCSS”. Bids may be mailed or hand delivered to the Gordon County School System, Purchasing Department, Attention: Dian Richardson, P.O. Box 12001, Calhoun, Georgia 30703-7000. Any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Keith Brown, Director of Transportation, Gordon County School System at .

Bids will be opened 2:00 pm, April 13, 2017, at the Gordon County School System, Central Office, 205 Warrior Path, Calhoun, Georgia.

Bidders are required to use the enclosed bid form and instructed to read carefully all items, conditions and specifications in this letter and the attached pages before completing their bid.

The Gordon County School System reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularity in bids received, to award the entire bid to one contractor or to make awards by group or by line item whichever is in the best interest of Gordon County School System. Additionally, the Gordon County School system may unilaterally terminate this contract in whole or in part, for the school system’s convenience, availability of unobligated funds, or because of failure of the contractor to fulfill the contract obligations in any respect.

1.  Bids should be mailed in ample time to assure delivery prior to the bid opening date and time.

Bids may be hand delivered to the Purchasing Department, Gordon County School System.

2.  Bids must be on the bid form provided within this Invitation to Bid with each price listed on the appropriate line, sealed within an envelope marked as shown in the cover letter.

3.  Gordon County School System does not assume any responsibility nor offers any guarantee for the items. Buses are sold “as is, where is” basis. Moreover, it must be understood by all concerned that buyers are responsible for inspecting vehicles. Inspection of all buses may be done during the any work week between the hours of 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. An exception to the viewing time and dates is the week of April 3-7th as all facilities are closed for Spring Break . Inspection shall be completed prior to the closing of the bids on April 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm

4.  Payment shall made by Cashier Check, no exceptions.

5.  The buyer is responsible for removing the item/s purchased no later than April 20th2017, between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.
