Payment method Civic Integration components
I would like to pay with a DUO loan
-You must have a minimum of € 3,750.- in funding available.
-You must include a copy of the letter stating that the DUO loan has been approved and a copy of your most recent statement from DUO. Both documents should be brought to the admissions interview.
-The fees will be invoiced in three installments in September, December and February. You will repeatedly be asked to sign for proof of receipt.
-If it emerges that we are not able to invoice the fees to DUO at any time during the pre-bachelor year, you will be invoiced directly.

Read the following information carefully before registering.
General admissionrequirements
- You are a long-term resident of the Netherlands.
- You have a secondary school diploma that has been recognized at a minimum of havo level.
- You speak Dutch at the B1 level.
- You speak English at a B1- level.
- You have basic math skills.
- You would like to pursue a university-level education.
- You are available fulltime during the entire year.
- You are able to work with computer programs such as Word and Powerpoint, online educational material, etc., and in possession of a computer with an internet connection.
- You have received permission from your municipality to attend a pre-bachelor year while receiving welfare.
You will be tested whether you meet the requirements by taking various entrance exams and through an admissions interview. In addition, you must also enclose the following documents with your registration:
Official recognition of your diploma.
Permission from your municipality to take the pre-bachelor year.
If applicable: proof of your DUO loan (approval from DUO for the loan and a copy of your most recent statement from DUO).
If applicable: Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) certificate at B1 level. This certificate must have been received within the past year.
If applicable: Certificate of English at a B1- level. This certificate must have been received within the past 2 years.
The following certificates are accepted:
IELTS with a minimum overall score of 4;
Cambridge profile PET or higher;
TOEFL internet-based score: minimum of 67;
TOEFL paper-based score: minimum of 517.
Article 1Registration
1.You must submit your completed registration form at the Student Desk, or send it by mail to the address mentioned on page 1 of this form, or scan and email it .
2.Placement reservations occur according to the order in which they are received.
You will be invited to one or more entrance exams. If you pass these exams, you will then be invited to an admissions interview.
3.After the admissions interview, an admissions committee will determine whether you are eligible for an academic pre-bachelor or whether additional subjects are necessary. Placement is definite from that point on.
4.If it emerges during either the entrance exams or the admissions interview that the pre-bachelor year is not a suitable course for you, guidance will be provided with regard to other suitable opportunities. This can be a pre-bachelor at a university of applied science or another path to education or employment. In this case, you will be reimbursed in full for any fees paid.
Article 2General registration terms and conditions
- By completing and signing the registration form, you commit yourself to payment of the registration fee.
- The deadline for registration for the pre-bachelor 2017-2018 is 31 May 2017.
Registration forms will no longer be processed after this date. - Tilburg University reserves the right to cancel the program due to an insufficient number of registrations. In this case, you will be reimbursed in full for any fees paid.
Article 3Fees
- The cost of educational materials and exams that are not taken at DUO are included in the fees.
- The fees for the various components of the Civic Integration exams (Dutch State Exam NT2-II, the KNM and ONA exams) must be paid separately at DUO. It is permissible to pay for these fees with your DUO loan.
- No fees are incurred for the admissions process.
- Tilburg University has received additional financing for the costs of this program beyond the personal contribution or co-payment. This entails a commitment to effort on the participants’ part. If you are admitted to the pre-bachelor year, you are expected to prepare for and attend your classes, and make the effort to complete the year successfully.
Article 4Payment conditions
1.By signing the registration form, you commit yourself to payment of the registration fee.
2.If you have stated you wish to pay with a DUO loan, you assume responsibility for ensuring there are sufficient funds available to meet the three quarterly installments. If Tilburg University is not able to collect payment from DUO, an invoice will be issued to you directly.
Article 5 Graduation
1.If you complete the pre-bachelor year successfully and pass all the exams, you will automatically be admitted to a bachelor’s course at Tilburg University.
2.Some bachelor’s courses may have additional requirements. If this is applicable in your case, additional subjects will be offered so you take them during the pre-bachelor year.
3.If you decide to pursue your education at another university or university of applied science, the entrance requirements for that institution are applicable.
Article 6Cancellation of participation in the pre-bachelor
1.Registration can only be cancelled in writing during the registration period. A written cancellation must be submitted by regular mail or by email to .
2.The postmark or the date on which the email was sent will be considered the official cancellation date.
3.A cancellation is not final until you have received our confirmation by mail or email.
4.In case of cancellation before the registration deadline (see page 4 for the closing date), a fee of €50 will be charged to cover the administrative costs.
5.In the case of cancellation due to non-admission, no administrative costs are incurred (see Article 1.5).
6.In case of cancellation after the registration deadline (see page 4 for the closing date), you are obliged to pay the total amount of the course fees.
7.In special cases, such as a participant’s long-term illness or exceptional family circumstances, the Head of the Language Center may allow reimbursement of fees. In such cases, participants should submit a request for restitution to the Language Center secretary and address it to the Head of the Tilburg University Language Center. The request must contain written proof of the special circumstances. The Head of the Language Center will come to a decision within 6 weeks, and if necessary, after meeting with the applicant.
Article 7 Course Contract
1.You will receive a course contract before the start of the course, which a pre-bachelor employee will discuss with you. You must sign and return one of the copies of the contract.
