Band students are to have the following items for every performance; band polo shirts, SHOW SHIRT, blue jeans(no holes), band shoes, and long black socks. This is an alternate uniform that is a required for wind players. No visible jewelry will be allowed (refer to the band handbook) Ladies/Gentlemen should have hair pulled back (same as practice). Majorette, colorguard, and drum major requirements should have wind suits as an alternate uniform.
Please make sure your child has memorized the parade selection, “Sleigh Ride”, since we will not be using flip folders for these parades. Student were give copies of this music on 11/03/17. And… band sections are encouraged to “decorate” their instrument for the parades.
Please note, attendance is expected of all Marching Band Students since these parades are performance grades.
Please take time to review the handbook regarding rules and regulations while in uniform. While in uniform, students are allowed to drink clear liquids, no greasy foods. This is not a new policy. If a student must have something to eat while in uniform, he/she must get approval from a director. Also check with your band member and make sure they have everything they need to make these parades successful. Please feel free to call me if you need to discuss any concerns.
Sincerely,
D. Bruce Miller
Director of Bands
