Dear Parents and Students,
A warm welcome coming from your new first grade teacher
Ms. Vergeres! Our summer is coming to a quick close, and it is almost time to start our ‘2015-2016’ school year. I hope that you and your family had an exciting summer, full of fun and good times.
Just to let you know a little about me, I have been teaching for 20 years, and right here in Lovettsville for the last 10 of those precious years. I am a resident of Lovettsville, and simply love teaching at our elementary school. My hobbies include reading, riding bikes, skiing, and being a dedicated mother/teacher. I love spending time at the beach, swimming at the pool, and taking long walks around the neighborhood with my dog Roxxy.
I have two beautiful children of my own named Thomas and Carissa. Thomas is beginning 10th grade at Woodgrove High School this year and enjoys playing soccer and learning about science. Carissa will be entering 7th grade at Harmony Middle School, and just loves to sing, play volleyball, and spend time at the pool.
I am thrilled to be teaching first grade this year! I truly believe that education is a partnership between the home and school. I am looking forward to partnering with each of you to ensure that your child has the best school year possible! For your convenience I have attached a supply list to the back of this letter. In addition to the new t-shirt, students are also asked to bring in an old, larger t-shirt that can be used to wear over their clothes during art class.
I hope to see you at our Open House at Lovettsville Elementary School on August 28th between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer and be sure to read some good books you can share with me!
