Offer Letter for the Position of Nanny

We write to confirm that we would like to offer you the position of a Nanny to commence on [Commencement date]. Job Title and Duties

You shall be employed as a Nanny.

You may be required from time to time to undertake such other duties as the Employer may reasonably require.

Place of Employment

Your place of employment shall be at [ ] or such other places as the Employer may require. In the event that the Employer/family moves home your usual place of work will change automatically if it falls within a 5-mile radius.

You may be required to travel within the UK and overseas with the Employer. Prior notice and agreement will be given. If you accompany the Employer on family holidays this will not be deducted from your holiday entitlement. You will be required to have a valid current passport for any holidays taken abroad.

Hours of Work and Overtime

Holiday and Holiday Pay

Holiday may be taken only at times convenient to the Employer as previously arranged by notice. Your Employer will choose two weeks of when you are required to take leave, You may choose when the remaining two weeks are to be taken, with prior agreement from your Employer. All arrangements of holiday should be discussed and agreed with your employer.

If you start part way through a year, are employed on a part time or fixed term basis your holiday will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

Pensions

If eligible, the employer will auto-enrol you into apensionscheme, in accordance with The Pension Regulator’s Auto Enrolment obligations.

Absence Due to Sickness or Injury

A self-certification system operates for absence from work due to sickness or injury not exceeding seven days.

If you cannot attend work because of sickness or injury you must, unless there is some good reason to the contrary, advise your employer of the reason for non-attendance by [8.00am] on the first working day of absence. Failure to do so may result in sickness pay not being paid.

Sickness or injury absence exceeding seven days must be covered by a doctor's certificate/fit note.

If you are absent from work for three days or more days by reason of sickness or injury, you are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).

Probationary Period

There is a probationary period of [3] months for new employees, during which time you shall be entitled to [1 week’s] notice. The Employer reserves the right to extend this period as appropriate.

Notice to Terminate

Once the probationary period is completed, save in cases of gross misconduct, this contract may be terminated at any time by the following periods of notice.

The Employer's notice to employees with continuous service from one week to two years will be one week. Thereafter, employees are entitled to receive one additional week's notice for each year of continuous employment (up to a maximum of 12 weeks' notice).

This Offer is conditional upon the Employer receiving satisfactory:

1.  References – we require two of these from your current/previous employer.

2.  Documentation relating to your employment status in the United Kingdom. The Employer has an obligation to assist the UK Border Agency in the prevention of illegal working. In order to meet this requirement, all prospective UK employees must provide confirmation of their eligibility to work in the UK, by providing the relevant original documentation. Any prospective employee who has not provided satisfactory evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK will not be able to commence employment until they have done so. It is therefore essential that you complete this requirement as soon as possible but, at the very latest, at the start of your first day of employment.

3.  Disclosure and Barring Service check.

In addition, you will be expected to:

1.  Produce your Income Tax P45 and National Insurance Number.

3.  Undertake that you are at liberty to take up employment with the Employer and perform all the obligations set out in this offer letter of Employment without limitation or breach of any obligations or duties you have to a third party.
