Jules Verne wrote a book “From the Earth

to the Moon” on how man can get to the

moon.

The Americans were in a space race with

the Soviet Union and were losing badly.

In 1961, President Kennedy made a

speech which promised to send men

safely to the moon and back.

I In July 16, 1969, America launched the

Saturn V rocket into space with three

astronauts on board.

The spacecraft Eagle lands safely on the

moon with Armstrong and Aldrin inside it.

The astronauts walk on the moon wearing

spacesuits and perform experiments.

Armstrong and Aldrin take off and meet up with Collins on the Columbia.

They head back to Earth and land

safelyin the Pacific Ocean. They are nowheroes all around the world.

Problem
Troy demands a toll for using their channel of water to the Black Sea. Paris, the prince of Troy kidnaps Helen, the queen of Sparta. The Greeks declare war against Troy, but the city of Troy is well protected behind its high walls.
Plot/Event
The Greek cities band together and sails to Troy. Both armies fight bravely for 10 long years, but no one can win the war. The Greeks are tired and are homesick. To defeat the Trojans, they must get inside the city.
Solution
The Greek carpenters build a huge, wooden horse called the Trojan Horse. Odysseus and his men hide in the hollow horse. They wait until the Trojans are tired and drunk from celebrating. They open the gates and the entire Greek army attacks and burns Troy to the ground.
