BE IT RESOLVED THAT pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.12(e), we certify that as of May 31, 2010 after review of the secretary's monthly financial report (appropriations section) and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of our knowledge no major account or fund has been overexpended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(b) and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district's financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education submit a renewal application for temporary instructional space for the 2010-11 school year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that temporary instructional space exists at Clinton, Marshall, Seth Boyden, and TuscanSchools.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The temporary space is necessary to support the educational program within the district and is reflected as needed in the Long Range Facility Program. They are maintained properly and are included within the buildings’ fire alarm systems.

RECORDS ON MICROFILM TO DVD

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education approves the contract for converting archive permanent student records on microfilm to DVD with Accuscan of Edgewater Park, New Jersey at a rate of $25,431.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

These permanent records dating from 1940 – 1993 are stored on microfilm that is beginning to deteriorate and becoming difficult to read. NJDOE requires that records be readable.

NJSA 18A:18A-3 authorizes the School Business Administrator who is a qualified purchasing agent to negotiate a contract that does not exceed the bid threshold without public advertising for bids.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education approves a contract with Schillinger Educational Consultants of Accord, New York, to provide ten days of professional services related to reading and writing instruction at a rate of $1,700 per workshop for a total of $17,000 for the 2010-11 school year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Board President, Superintendent and Board Secretary are authorized to execute and deliver any necessary contracts and reports on behalf of the Board.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education approves a contract with Learning Plus of Toms River, New Jersey to provide twenty-five staff development workshops related to collaborative teaching/in-class support and differentiated instruction at a rate of $1,500 per day for twenty-five workshops for a total of $37,500 for the 2010-11 school year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Board President, Superintendent and Board Secretary are authorized to execute and deliver any necessary contracts and reports on behalf of the Board.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education approves a contract with McKay Consulting, LLC of North Lawrence, Ohio, to provide professional services related to the Danielson Framework for Teaching at a rate not to exceed $20,000 during the 2010-11 school year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Board President, Superintendent and Board Secretary are authorized to execute and deliver any necessary contracts and reports on behalf of the Board.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The district is using the Danielson Framework for Teaching as a basis for evaluating teachers. McKay Consulting assists school districts and state service agencies around the country in using The Framework for Teaching as a foundation for the development of teacher evaluation systems, professional growth plans and models for teacher collaboration.

fee of five percent (5%) of the actual cost paid for transportation.
