Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back to the new term. We hope everybody had a peaceful Easter and we are ready for another busy term at school.
Conkers trip to Liddington
At Liddington the children did a lot of activities such as the giant swing, zip wire, aero ball and more. We did some activities in the evenings; there were robot wars and quizzes.
Without a doubt I think we can say the class had great fun doing all the events and taking part. Thank you for all the people who helped us to organise and pay for the trip.
Tillia: Over all it was really fun but the giant swing was really high
Tallullah: I can sum camp up in one word….awesome!
George MP: At first I was scared of the zip wire, but I’m really glad I did it!
Reese: The zip wire was really fun, it was definitely my favourite part.
We must say a massive thank you to Mrs Hooper, Mrs Oatley and Mr Oatley for giving up their time to accompany the children. Mrs Oatley has been brought out of retirement twice now to go on residential trips and we promise this is the last time!
Croscombe Garden Eggstravaganza
The parents and children of the school met together yesterday for the official opening of the new garden in the school field. A large crowd gathered to watch Mr James Cross, Head Gardener of the Bishop’s Palace in Wells, declare the allotment open.
Huge thanks to everyone who helped in
anyway in the construction of this great
facility. Particular thanks to Craig
Stevens and Gemma Pearce who have
doggedly kept working on the site all
year. Now we just hope for a great
growing season this year.
Head Lice
We are afraid that head lice have visited some of the children in Acorns/Chestnuts class this week. Please take the time to check your child’s head this weekend.
London Marathon
On 23rd April Joss Oatley will be running the London Marathon. He will be doing this in memory of his beautiful niece, Lydia Nicole, who lost her battle with cancer in May 2016, aged just 7 after fighting it on and off from the age of 18 months old. Throughout everything she remained immensely strong and was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. This was aided by the incredible work of CLIC Sargent who were massively supportive to Lydia, and her immediate family. He is aiming to raise £2,000 for CLIC to help them continue to do the amazing work they do for families and children in these heart breaking situations. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor Joss and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this. Joss appreciates your support and thanks you for any donations. He has currently raised £800.00 (total raised including Gift Aid £968.75). The link to his Giving page is:
