How to easily access:
Create bookmark to site by using bdrum.com > links > Psyc 1 Fall 04 link on left
You arrive at our Announcement page with all links for class
Use Announcement page to link to WebCT and many other sites
Login to MyWebCT
Click on Login button
Enter WebCT ID and password
You reach our homepage

Syllabus in word format
Mail: I may use to mail a general announcement for more detailed information; click on mail icon
Inbox – mail you receive
Compose message: click to send message
When you reach Compose Mail message, use Browse button to select address of person, compose message and click send

Contact Instructor: quick way to email me
Chat: a fun tool we won’t use formally but you can use to chat with other students in class if you want.
Action Potential: example of a type of link I add for your information
Announcements: link directly to our announcement page
Grades: link not there yet but will be place to see points you received on tests

Research Participation Scheduling Site
Use link from WebCT or our announcement page; bookmark the site
Download forms: if you ever lose the handout I gave you, you can get another copy here; it’s called Information of Research Participation
Read instructions: if you enrolled in class before beginning of semester, etc.
Obtaining user name and password:
Click Login, click on first time user link, type first name and last name exactly as they appear on class roster, type in last 4 digits of Social security code and click submit
Write down your user name and password: you will need to provide this name whenever you participate in research
Type in email address: this is the next step (e.g., )
Create a unique password if you wish but don’t forget it
Subsequent login: if you changed password, you need to use new password
Scheduling appointments: use projects tab to check times
Missing appointments: you must cancel an appointment midnight the night before or the credit will be deducted from your total hours.
If researcher missed appointment, report it within 24 hours and you receive credit anyway; use sessions tab and click on missing researcher link
Participating in Research
You will need to bring:
yellow card
user name
Yellow card is your backup; researcher will stamp it to show you participated; go online to see if your time is posted; if not, notify researcher
You are encouraged to go online and print copies of research participation
Turn in yellow card or print out of participation to this instructor by the last day of class, 12/10/04
Alternative Paper
If you object to participating in research, you may write the alternative paper about research methodology. Refer to Research participation handout for details; paper is turned into Dr. Schaeuble no later than 5pm Friday, 12/3/04
