Old Business

Al!ve membership- Michell created a list of pros and cons for renewing our Al!ve membership. Due to low board meeting attendance, Monica Mayer made a motion and Michele Domke seconded the motion to vote electronically on whether or not to renew our AL!VE membership. Monica will send out the vote (including the handout) within the week and Becky will track the results.

Job Descriptions- Reviewed/finalized VAN board job descriptions.Monica also passed out a draft version of a timeline to guide the board through the important dates/deadlines to meet during the year. Monica asked that board members review the timeline and share any feedback before the next board meeting. Monica will get the final copy of the position descriptions on the website and to Past President, Sue Wolford, by the end of this month so Sue can start actively recruiting new board members for next year starting in Oct.

2015 Board positions to fill include:

Web Coordinator, one Membership Co-chair, Vice President, Secretary, and one Professional Development Co-chair.

Discussed adding to “membership responsibilities”the task of downloading VAN member emails from the web directory every two months and up load the list to mail chimp to keep it current. This ensures that all current members receive the VANtage newsletter.

Committee Reports

  1. Treasurer Report

August was our best month this year for membership revenue. We had $570 in membership dues come in from the website and another $240 via check. That brings membership dues up to $2,658 for the year. However, we are still over $1,200 short of our budget of $3,870.

Nothing notable on the expense side, just a few small bills were paid. Bank balances increased commensurately to $22,288.82.

Next month, Anthony will talk about investment strategies for VAN.
