Application Guidelines and Rules
The American Gelbvieh Junior Association (AGJA) is excited to be teaming up with the American Junior Simmental Association and the American Junior Shorthorn Association to host The Summit. The all new beef industry leadership conference will be held August 3-6, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska.The American Gelbvieh Foundation (AGF) supports youth development and is offering scholarships to two attendees of the summit.
Scholarships Available:
The AGF funded scholarships will be awarded to two pre-registered attendees to Tthe Ssummit in the amount of the registration fee. The scholarship recipient will receive reimbursement by August 31, 2017. The AGF scholarship committee will evaluate all qualified applications.
One $250 Scholarship (AGJA member)

-One $250 Scholarship (Non-AGJA member or othernon-member of other Summit affiliated breed associations)
Qualifications:
-Applicants must be registered for The Summit by July 1,2017
-Must be between the ages of 14-22.
-Any youth interested in learning more about the beef industry is welcomed to apply.
-Applicants are not required to be associated with or a member of the AGJA.
-One AGF scholarship is specific to youth outside of the organization.
Instructions for Completing the Application
Cover Page: List your name, hometown, state, along with your age.
Section Two:Please complete page two of this document, which is the application. (The application may be reproduced on your computer. Typewritten applications are preferred over handwritten).
Section Three(or more if more space is needed): Please list on a separate sheet(s) projects completed, offices held, recognition and awards for the following groups: AGJA, 4-H, FFA, high school, church/community, college and relevant work experience.
Section Four: In an essay (500 to 1000 words) describe your involvement within thebeef industry.Include your future plans and how thebeef industry will be involved.
Section Five: Please attach or include two letters of recommendation. These letters may come fromyour agricultural employer or supervisor, county agent, 4-H leader, FFA instructor, college instructor, minister, school principal, or active leader in the beef industry. Both letters of recommendation must be included with the application.
