Welcome to our Highland Beach Cabin
Your self-catering holiday on Mellon Udrigle beach
The most beautiful bay in Wester Ross!
We hope you enjoy your stay. Please find some general information below.
Heating and Hot water
The rooms in the cabin are heated by electric panel heaters all of which are thermostatically controlled. Please do not cover or hang clothing, towels etc. on them as this would pose a fire risk. The exception to this is in the bathroom. Here there is a heated towel rail which can be turned on and off by a switch behind the chest of drawers in the bunk bed room. In the bathroom you will also find a wall mounted heater if additional warmth is required, the switch for this is in the utility cupboard. The hot water tank and itscontrol switch can also be found in this cupboard.
Instruction manuals
Manuals for the microwave, oven etc. are all found in the TV unit drawer.
Rubbish
There is a large bin in the kitchen and a small one in the bathroom. There is also a black bin outside the cabin to the right side as you look at the cabin from the sea. We will pick up the rubbish from this bin mid-week. Please do not use the bins at the entrance to the campsite.
Linen
Bed linen, tea towels, a bath mat and a hand towel are all provided if requested. It would be helpful if all the beds could be stripped on the day of departure.
Breakages and spares
Spare tea towels are in the white trolley unit in the kitchen. In the utility cupboard you will find extra toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and cleaning products. We understand that accidents happen, but please leave a note for us so we can replace it. If you find there is something missing or something you could do with please just ask.
Departure
To give us time to have the cabin ready for the next guests, please could you vacate by 10.30am. It would be helpful if you could leave the cabin as clean as possible.

Groceries
The post office at Laide sells petrol, papers and general grocery items. The next village of Aultbea has a butcher, small post office and a general store. Please note the only shops open on a Sunday are in Gairloch being The Shop at the Pier and McColls.
Eating out
For lunches, we would recommend the Bridge Café in Poolewe and the Perfume Studio at Mellon Charles. For dinner there are a few places in Gairloch such as the Myrtle Bank Hotel, The Old Inn, Na Mara and The Sheiling.
Out and about
The local paper called the yellow pages or Gairloch and District Times, gives details of local events and activities taking place. It also gives timetables for the local swimming pool in Poolewe and the leisure centre in Gairloch. There are also tourist information centres in Poolewe and Gairloch.
