Martin Luther King, Jr. DayMonday, January 15
OnMonday, January 15, school will be closed to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On this day we celebrate the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. We commemorate as well the timeless values he taught us through his example - the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr. King's character and empowered his leadership. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit.
Reminder - No school onFriday, January 26
Friday, January 26, 2018is a Staff Development Day. This is a non-attendance day for students.
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
Please join us for our next ELAC meeting onWednesday, January 24 at 8:30 a.m.in the MPR. Our 2nd grade students in the English Language Development Program will be sharing a Systematic ELD Lesson.
Attendance Procedures
ABSENCE LETTERS:
The Saugus Union School District requires us to notify parents for all attendance concerns. We are required to notify you via letter when your child has3 unexcused absences or 10 excused absences. Furthermore, if your child reaches6 unexcused absences or 14 excused absences, the District requires an "in person" meeting with a site/district administrator to address the attendance concerns.
TARDY LETTERS:
The Saugus Union School District requires us to notify parents when students have an excessive amount of tardies. We are required to notify you via letter when your child reaches7 tardies. If your child continues to be tardy and reaches15 tardies, the district requires an "in person" meeting with a site/district administrator to address the tardy concerns.

- Find out about the many family engagement activities and opportunities
- Stay informed about the English Language Assessments and Data
