Gemütlichkeit 2015 Presented by The Mercedes-Benz Cleveland and Pittsburgh Area Dealers

Thank you for requesting a registration information packet for Gemütlichkeit 2015. The Western Reserve Section of Ohio is excited to present this oldest MBCA national event using the Pittsburgh International Race Complex. This packet provides an overview of Gemütlichkeit 2015. If you need more information, check our web site at www.benzclub.org for a full description of the various events and any updates. Or call Sue Morrison at 330-673-7885 or email Sue at . Cars other than M-Bs may be used for the defensive driving only. All other events must be done in a Mercedes-Benz. The tech form must be filled out and signed by your mechanic for TRACK DRIVING EXPERIENCE ONLY. You will need a Snell 2005 or newer helmet for autocross and driving experience on the track. There will be a few rental helmets at the track for $10 per day. You will need long sleeve cotton shirts, long pants, and closed shoes for the track.

BANQUETS AND RECEPTIONS

Our Welcome Reception, presented by Fred Gwinn of Reverse Logic will be held at the Pittsburgh Marriott North on Wednesday, August 19. The final awards banquet will be on Saturday, August 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2000 Garden View Lane, Cranberry Twp. 16066.

TRACK INFORMATION

Defensive Driving and Autocross will be held on Thursday at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (1 exit west on the PA turnpike with no tolls). Also on Thursday and all day Friday, much time will be spent on the newly designed 3 mile road course. If you have never been on a track and thought you would like to do this, well, this is the time to try it. There will be special instructors for first timers. This event can be your introduction to driving events, and since time trial trophies will not be awarded this year, the pressure of competition will not influence your driving. Participants will be grouped by experience and model of cars for each group that is out on the track at that time. The tech inspection spot check and verification of tech sheet (for road course only) and helmet (SNELL 2005 or newer) will be completed at the track. There are a few rental helmets at $10 available first come, first serve at the track. The autocross will be timed and trophies awarded at the final banquet.

CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

The Concours d’Elegance will be held at a nearby facility where cars are displayed on a grassy area and judging can be done. MBCA has a 100 point judging system which you can find on the national web site: www.mbca.org This is a chance for you to clean your car to as close to factory ready as possible. Since most cars are daily drivers, allowance is made for high mileage. Also, there will be a display class for those who just want to display your car for the enjoyment of others. Definitions of the classes can be found on the National Website: www.mbca.org. Or email Pete Lesler, national concours chair at with questions.

Other tours and activities are being planned. Registration can be done at the desk upon arrival. Watch the website for additional information.
