RULES OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

The Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo, aware of the importance of photography and art as means of transmission of values such as respect and tolerance, calls on Bosnian citizens from 6 to 25 years of age to participate in the photographic competition #MojaBiH (MyBiH) to promote, through a photo-shot, what better represents Bosnia-Herzegovina today in their own eyes.
Participation
The photographic contest is a rewarded competition divided into four categories and addressed to all Bosnian citizens from 6 to 25 years of age. There is no participation fee. The participation to the competition implies:
-the full approval of the below-mentioned rules that serves as waiver for the utilization of the sent material;
-a declaration of authorship on the material submitted.
Participants
Individual participants may apply for the photographic competition, as well as school classes that have obtained the necessary authorizations from the competent school authorities. Minors must obtain the authorization from one of their parents (or legal guardians). Individuals can apply with a maximum of 1 photo, while classes can submit a maximum of 2 photos. Groups of classes of the same school can participate together by sending up to 4 photographs.
Registration procedures
Photo-shots can be sent from April 9th to May 1st, 2018:

●putting in the subject line: Photo Competition – MojaBiH 2018
●writing in the body of the e-mail:
-title of the photo-shot and a brief description; author; age; place of origin of the applicant;
-for classes, the name of the class(es) and of the school.
-the wording “I hereby declare to have read, understood and to fully accept the rules and conditions of the competition published on the official Facebook page of the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo on the
Embassy’s official website I authorize the use of my personal data in compliance with the legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the personal data protection, and consent to the publication of the sent material on Facebook and twitter, accompanied by information about my name, age, date of birth and origin.
-For minors under the age of 18, authorization from the parents (or legal guardians) to participate in the competition and to publish the photo(s) must be also stated.
●attaching:
the photograph file(s) which must be in .jpg format, at least 2400 pixels in width (for landscape oriented photos), or 2400 pixels high (for portrait oriented photos), and renamed with name and last name of the author (e.g. “Adnan_Begović” or “Emina_Begović”);
Acceptance of applications
The applicant will receive a confirmation of reception via e-mail of the material sent. Photographs may freely show a monument, an artwork, a urban or natural landscape, a dish, a painting or a drawing, all representing Bosnia-Herzegovina today, according to the author. Organizers retain the right not to accept the participation of applicants who do not comply with conditions, proposed topic and spirit of the initiative, or intend to participate with photographs inciting discrimination or violence.
Publication
After reception and acceptance of the sent material, the accepted pictures will be published by the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo on its official website and social networks (Facebook: Twitter: @italyinbih).
As stated above, the publication will include personal data of the author (i.e. name and last name, age, origin, photograph title). Data relating to name and last name of minors/children under the age of 18 will be written with initials.
Applicants holding a profile on the above-mentioned social networks, are also required to publish themselves their own photograph with the hashtag #MojaBiH, tagging the official Facebook page of the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo.
Categories
Participants to the competition #MojaBiH will be divided into the 4 following categories, for each of which one winner will be selected:
●Individuals 6-12 years old;
●Individuals 13-18 years old;
●Individuals 19-25 years old;
●One class or groups of classes from the same school.
Winners’ selection
The winners for categories 1, 2, 3 will be chosen by a Jury of professional photographers. The winner for category n° 4 will be chosen by users on the basis of the highest number of likes obtained on the Embassy’s Facebook page among the 10 photos preselected by the Jury.
Prizes
Prizes for winners:
-Category 1: a workshop on photography, videography and media training (kindly offered by UNICEF);
-Category 2: a workshop on photography, videography and media training (kindly offered by UNICEF) and a digital camera (offered by the Embassy of Italy)
-Category 3: a trip to Rome (offered by the Embassy of Italy);
-Category 4: a projector (offered by the Embassy of Italy).
The award ceremony and the prize giving will take place in May. More information about the venue will be provided on the Embassy’s website and social networks.
Rights and obligations
Every participant is responsible for:
-the content of the pictures, freeing the organization from any responsibility, including the claims for moral and material damages;
-copyright of the sent materials.
On the basis of the above, the organizers is not to be considered responsible for any disputes about the photos’ copyright or any other consequence related to the photos in the competition.
The participants of the competition absolve the organizers from any responsibility towards third parties who might be offended by the publication of the above material.
By accepting this Regulation, the Embassy of Italy is authorized to use, reproduce and share in Italy and abroad the received materials with no limitations. Moreover, participants renounce to any claims or actions against the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo, caused by the use of the material sent.
The Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo ensures the processing of personal data solely for the purpose of the event.
