Teen Pregnancy Letter to a Friend

Directions: You will read the letter below from your best friend. She and her boyfriend are considering taking their relationship to the next level…sex! You have just finished learning about the consequences of being sexually active as a teenager. Your best friend has come to you for advice and you must share with her the wealth of information that you have learned.

Your letter must include three risks associated with teen sexuality: pregnancy, STD, financial troubles, etc. Use at least one statistic to support each of your three risks. You can refer to the articles that we read in class or look up your own statistics at a reputable website.

Your letter must be five paragraphs and include introductions, one paragraph per risk and a conclusion.

Hey BFF

Whaddup? Listen, I have a 411 emergency and need your help. My guy and I have been talking about taking our relationship to the next level. I am really nervous that I could become pregnant. He’s sooooo gr8t, he promises me I won’t become preggers! However, I am still not sure the time is right. The problem is I think I love him. I know….it’s only been 3 months since we’ve been hangin’ together…but I am afraid if I say no he will walk! I need your help! What should I do? If he promises I can’t get pregnant, why shouldn’t I just do IT? Are there any other consequences that I am overlooking? What if I do get preggers? What are my options? HELP!!!!

XOX UR BFF
